Joint Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE Advanced)

About JoSAA 2015: Joint Seat Allocation Authority, commonly known as JoSAA will conduct the seat allocation procedure for admissions to IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes- funded either partially or fully by Central / State Government) from 2015 onwards. Till 2014, seat allotment procedure for JEE Main qualifiers for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs was conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and for admissions to IITs and ISM Dhanbad, the seat allocation procedure was conducted by Joint Admission Board (JAB) for JEE Advanced qualifiers

From 2015 onwards, Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been formed that consists of representatives from JAB 2015 and CSAB 2015. This authority will conduct joint seat allocation procedure for qualifying candidates of JEE Main & Advanced, and will grant admission to IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs on the basis of their performance in JEE.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (ISM) offer admissions to several academic programs on the basis of JEE (Advanced) 2015 AIR, while National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) offer admissions on the basis of JEE (Main) 2015 AIR. JoSAA 2015 Eligibility: To participate in JoSAA 2015, candidates have to qualify either in JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2015. The IITs and ISM Dhanbad will offer admissions on the basis of JEE Advanced 2015 Ranks, while NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will offer admission on the basis of JEE (Main) 2015.

Qualifying in the above mentioned examinations does not guarantee admission in any of the Institute. Each Institute / academic program has additional eligibility requirements. Candidates have to meet all the eligibility requirements to obtain admission.
The JEE Main 2015 was held on April 4, 10 & 11 and the scores were announced on April 27, short listing top 1.5 lakhs candidates, who are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2015 which is scheduled on May 24, 2015.
Below is the eligiblity criteria for the candidates who are eligible for participation in Joint Seat Allocation;
Criterion (i): Qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2015 for academic programs [excluding the preparatory courses] at IITs and ISM AND satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination"
Criterion (ii): Qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2015 for preparatory courses at IITs and ISM AND satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination”
Criterion (iii): Secured a rank in JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech.) AND has obtained 45% [for GEN] or 40% [for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD] aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination*. Marks obtained in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks: any one language, Mathematics, Physics, any one of [Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or technical vocational subject] and any other fifth subject.
Criterion (iv): Secured a rank in JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) AND has Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII (or equivalent) examination* AND has obtained 50% aggregate marks [irrespective of whether the candidate belongs to the GEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD category] in total five subjects including Mathematics.

JoSAA 2015 Participating Institute: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the names of participating institutes which will offer admissions to the qualifiers of JEE Main 2015 andJEE Advanced 2015. The authority will hold the joint seat allocation procedure (to begin from June 25) for IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs & GFTIs. As many as 88 Institutes will participate in the joint seat allocation procedure.

JoSAA 2015 Seat Allocation: The details and schedule has been announced by Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The seat allocation authority will allocate the seats as per the seat matrix data provided by the participating Institutes. There will be three rounds of seat allotment. For the purpose of seat allocation, qualified candidates will be partitioned into different categories based on (birth) categories, nationality and presence or absence of disability.
