About Army Institute of Technology(AIT), Pune:-

AIT was founded in August 1994, as a result of the vision, and untiring efforts of Gen B.C Joshi PVSM, AVSM, ADC.The Institute was inaugurated by Gen S.Roy Chaudhary PVSM, ADC on 24th Feb, 1995.The beautiful campus, serene ambience and architectural splendor,state of the art infrastructure, all provide vital ingredients for a delectable academic environment for development of total quality engineers.
The first batch of BE students graduated in 1998 with flying colours.The succeeding batches continue to excel in all fields-be it sports,cultural or academics.And this tradition of excellence promises to remain unfizzed with every new batch coming to the Institution.
The Institute obtained accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in May 2007 and reaccreditation for three departments and first time for IT Dept is being taken up from 18 to 20 Jan 2013 and was awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification for quality Management and administration in Aug 2005 and re-certification in Aug 2008 and Feb 2012.

AIT Director Message:-

Brig (Retd) SK Lahiri is an Engineer Officer, with 33 years of experience serving the Indian Army with major involvement in Training and Academia in elite training establishments of the Armed Forces, HRM, Project and Materials Management, Logistics and one year in an IT Consulting Company as Chief HR. He has done the prestigious Higher Command course at Mhow and Defence Services Staff College course at Wellington. He has obtained M Phil (Management) from DAV University, Indore and a Business Management degree from IIM (Ahmedabad). He has also been on the Faculty of College of Military Engineering Pune, Officers Training Academy Chennai and Defence Services Staff College .
He retired from the appointment of Faculty Commander in College of Military Engineering in 2008.
The year 2012-13 has been a busy and rewarding one for AIT.  By Gods Grace AITians have done well in all facets of Institutional Activities.
This year AIT obtained permanent affiliation to Pune University enabling us to receive more than Rs 35 lakh AICTE/University research grants. The college already has NAAC accreditation till 2015, and now has been accredited by NBA for IT Department for the first time and re-accredited for E&TC & Mechanical Departments.  ISO 9001:2008 certification was also obtained.
Our Academic Results have been encouraging again: more than 75 percent are in First Class and overall results are among the best in the University. Our first year results have been the best out of 108 engineering colleges in Pune University. Our placement figures are also one of the best in the Western Region in spite of recessionary conditions in manufacturing sector for last two years. It is indeed heartening to see a large number of our students being picked up by Microsoft, Accenture, Deloitte, HSBC and other top end corporate houses. In all 60 firms visited our campus for hiring and 80.0 percent were placed.
