Shri Aillak Pannalal Digambar Jain Pathashala Trust, established in 1885, started this college in July 1983 which is appropriately named after Seth Walchand Hirachand, one of our country's pioneer's of industrial development. It is the sincere desire of the trust and the Governing Body of the Institute to maintain high academic and technological standards. This would indeed be a fitting tribute to the celebrated industrial giant. It is hoped that Seth Walchand's name and achievements will inspire the students passing through the portals of this college to attain high degree of proficiency in their academic and professional career.The college has consistently achieved excellent results in the University examinations. The facilities provided at the college have been adjudged amongst the best, according to an independent Newspaper study and by an inspiration team of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.

Walchand Institute of Technology, one of the pioneering self financed Institution in engineering education & research was established in 1983 by SAPDJ Pathshala Trust( Estb. 1885). We, at Walchand Institute of Technology, devote ourselves to prepare competent engineers, imbibled with the spirit of professional and ethical values to sustain in the competitive global environment, who will be socially responsible global citizen.We believe that education is manifestation of perfection in human being. Therefore, we are committed to attain excellence in imparting quality technical education in conformation with current and future needs of industry, which can bring all three - equity, efficiency and effectiveness in to the public service using ICT.
WIT provides a student-centered joyous learning environment with close student-faculty interaction and constant participation of the industry. Through periodic seminars, symposia, workshops and industry visits as an integral part of the course, the students are equipped with technical knowledge, critical thinking skills and creativity to excel in the engineering profession. Alongside, college Festivals, sports meet and other such co-curricular and extra-curricular events also constitute an important part of the campus life.
We have R&D and Entrepreneurship Development Cell to inculcate research culture and enterprising skills among the students and faculty. Faculty members have undertaken research projects funded by various international &national agencies
