Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow was established in 1984, is the oldest engineering college of Lucknow. The Institute is fully financed by U.P Government, accredited by AICTE and affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Technical University. The main aim of the institute is to effectively contribute the national endeavour of producing world class manpower and to usher in Technology driven economic development of the country in order to in rich the quality of life of its citizen and to create and propagate innovative technologies and optimize the utilization of resources for sustainable development.The Institute is financed by U.P. Government and administered by the IET Society through its Board of Governors.The Institute is an autonomous college of GBTU, Lucknow and has strength of around 1500 students. The courses provided have the base of technical knowledge provided in IET.The institute is situated on the outskirts of Aliganj or on the entrance of Lucknow from Sitapur road. Master of Engineering or Master of Technology or Master of Science in Technology or Master of Engineering degree is a postgraduate program in engineering or technology field.ME/MTech degree program exposes students to a wide range of courses, combined with specialized research which culminates in a thesis. Such a combination gives students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics as well as industry.The residence requirements for ME/MTech program is four semesters. However, it is possible to get permission to spend one semester elsewhere. If someone wants to carry out the thesis work in a company, or at some other educational institution, it is allowed by the Institute.The scope of the course varies from material research to machinery development, Nano Technology, Smart materials, Aerospace Technology, Missiles technology, CAD/CAM, FMS, CIM, Automation and such other interrelated developments.
