About
- IMU CET 2015 is conducted by Indian Maritime University.
- The Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established in 2008 under the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters.
- Admissions to all UG and PG Programmes of IMU have started on February 23, 2015.
- All admissions to the various UG and PG programmes of the IMU and its Affiliated Institutes are done through All-India Common Entrance Tests (CETs) conducted every year, usually in the month of April.
- IMU CET 2015 is a common Entrance Test which makes the students eligible for admission to all UG programmes. IMU CET 2015 will be for August 2015 batch.
- There will be separate CETs for M.Tech & MBA Programmes

Who can apply – The eligibility criteria
IMU CET 2015 Eligibility
Academic Qualification: The Candidate who have passed Class 12 or equivalent in the first attempt on or after 1st August, 2013.
- Those appearing in the Class 12 (Qualifying Exam) can also appear for IMU CET 2015 provided they appear in the Qualifying exam before May 31, 2015.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
Age: The student's date of birth should fall on or after August 1, 2013. The students born eralier than this are not eligible to appear for IMU CET 2015.
Vision:
- For DNS B.Sc Nautical Science & B.Sc Maritime Science
- Candidates who will be selected for DNS, B.Sc. (Nautical Science) & B.Sc. (Maritime Science) should have a 6/6 (normal) in each eye.
- They are not allowed to wear glasses.
- For B.Tech Courses
- Eye sight in each eye beyond plus/minus 2.5 will be rejected.
- They are allowed to war glasses.
- For candidates joining T.S. Chanakya, MERI, Mumbai and MERI, Kolkata their eye sight
standard should conform to the New Entry Standard as per Mercantile Marine
Department of Government of India.
Eligibility for DNS leading to B.Sc Nautical Sciences
- Admissions to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science)
programme in IMU Affiliated Institutes are open only to ‘sponsored candidates. - A Diploma in Nautical Science calls for minimum 60% secured as aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics and Mathematics in Class 12 or equivalent.
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for DNS, B.Sc (Nautical Science) and B.Sc (Maritime Science).
Kindly Note: Admissions to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) programme in Affiliated Institutes are open only to ‘sponsored candidates’,i.e. candidates sponsored by Ship Owning or Managing Companies who qualify in IMU’s CET for UG programmes.
Application process and mode of submission
IMU CET 2015 Application Form
The candidates can apply for IMU CET 2015 ONLY online. There is NO offline Process of filling the IMU CET 2015 Application Form.
Online Mode: Candidates may apply through online mode by visiting the official website . The application fees can be paid via SBI Bank Challan Only.

IMU CET 2015 Application Form has to be filled in two stages.
Stage 1: Furnish all the details in the Application Form.
Stage 2: Candidates have to pay the IMU CET 2015 Application Fees Offline in any SBI Branch.
Important Points for IMU CET 2015 Application Form
- Candidates have to keep a soft copy of their digital photo and signature ready before they start filling the IMU CET 2015 application form.
- The Online Registration Process is complete in all respects only when both the stages have been done correctly.
- Once the payment details have been updated the Online Registration Process is complete and no further editing will be possible.
- Candidate need not submit any hard copy of the application Form or challan to IMU.
- Automated e-mails/SMS to every registered Applicant on successful registration of Application, uploading of Hall Ticket, publication of results, etc.
- The Applicants can give 3 preferences for the cities where they wish to take the CET while registering online.
IMU CET 2015 Exam centres
The Computer based Entrance Test for admission to UG and PG programmes are scheduled to be held on April 25, 2015 Afternoon between 2 pm and 5 pm in a single shift.

Selection process
Selection Procedure of all the above mentioned courses
- Physical Fitness Test: As per the guidelines laid down by the Director General of Shipping, Mumbai all the candidates need to clear the physical fitness test which is essential for admission.
- Medical Fitness Certificate: The prospective candidates are required to produce a medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Medical Officer approved by Directorate General of Shipping
- All the desirous candidates who wish to join these courses are advised to apply for Passport before taking admission.
IMU CET 2015 Counselling
The shortlisted candidates will be called for Counselling at designated IMU Campus(es) and will involve verification of original mark sheets and certificates, physical fitness clearance, and allotment of seats in the IMU Campuses or Affiliated Institutes

IMU CET 2015 Exam Pattern
- Duration: 3 hour.
- IMU CET 2015 question paper will be multiple choice type with four options to choose from, out of which only one is the correct answer.
