About MERI Mumbai

  • MERI Mumbai (Marine Engineering & Research Institute) is a branch of MERI Kolkata which is headquartered in Kolkata. MERI Mumbai admission is based on IMU CET 2015.
  • MERI Mumbai has been has been renamed Marine Engineering and Research Institute in 1994 and it is the oldest maritime training institute conforming to the ISO 9001.2008
  • There are three campuses in Mumbai under the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Mumbai campus, one is MERI Mumbai.
  • The remaining two are T S Chanakya and Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Advanced Maritime Studies & Research.

Who can apply – The eligibility criteria

MERI Mumbai Eligibility Criteria
For Admission to B.Sc. Maritime Science:
  • Candidate must have passed Class 12 Examination with Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics and English at the time of appearing for counselling.
  • Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate (55% in case of SC & ST candidates) in the Class 12 Examination
  • Age limit: For the general category, age should be between 17-25 years For SC/ST/OBCs, age limit should be 17-30 years.
  • Marital Status: The candidate must be unmarried 
For Admission to B.Tech Marine Engineering:
  • Candidate must have passed Class 12 Examination with Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics.
  • Candidate should not have secured less than 60% aggregate marks in PCM and 50% in English language.
  • Age limit: For the general category, age should be between 17-25 years For SC/ST/OBCs, age limit should be 17-30 years.
  • Marital Status: The candidate must be unmarried 

Application process and mode of submission

MERI Mumbai Application Process
There is no direct admission in MERI Mumbai. Prospective Candidates have to appear in IMU CET 2015 and they will be shortlisted on the basis of the IMU CET 2015 Counselling.

The selection process of MERI Mumbai (MERI Mumbai) will be based on the IMU CET 2015 Score.
IMU CET 2015 Counselling
The shortlisted candidates will be called for Counselling at designated IMU Campus(es) and will involve verification of original mark sheets and certificates, physical fitness clearance, and allotment of seats in the IMU Campuses or Affiliated Institutes
