Thermal Engineering:

Thermal Engineering is controlling heating or cooling processes in an enclosed environment or an open environment using various equipments. It involves the science of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer.

Thermal engineering deals with the conversion of heat energy between mediums and into other usable forms of energy. Most of the energy from thermal sources is converted into chemical, mechanical or electrical energy. In order to achieve this, thermal engineers are experts in heat transfer. Some areas a thermal engineer may specialize in include solar heating, boiler design or HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning).
